He was predeceased by: his parents, Redvers Colwell and Evelyn Colwell (Walsh); and his siblings, Ivan, Douglas, Alice Colwell, Theresa Caissie, Vera Petrovics, Lois Caissie and Joyce Colwell.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Colwell (Maston); his children, Daniel (Brenda), Thomas (Denise) and Teresa Clark (Dave); his grandchildren, Sarah (Catlin), Chelsea (Mike), Cassandra (Patrick), Kealtie (Alex) and Meaghan (TJ); and his great grandchildren, Madison, Reid, Chrissy, Sophie, Emma, Rowan and Maeve. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
