He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Stewart (White); his parents, Henry Stewart and Mae Stewart; his siblings, Shirley Farrell, Joan Jamieson, Melvin Stewart and James Stewart; and his son Ronnie Stewart.

He is survived by: his sons, James Stewart of Mill Cove, NB, Alan Stewart (Linda) of Musquash, NB and Richard Stewart (Sherry) of Penniac, NB; and his sisters, Merna Dunphy of Fredericton, NB and Joyce Jones of Comox, BC. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
