He was predeceased by: his parents, Henri Després and Osithe Després (Durelle); and his siblings, Israël, Alonzo, Aquila, Arcade, Onéda and Laurie.
He is survived by: his wife Aurore Després (Robichaud); his children, Guy (Ioana Berbec) of Bucharest, Romania, Robert (Kim) of Saint John, Denis (Inge) of Fredericton and Anne O'Hallaran (Roger) of Florida; and his sister O'Rhea Robichaud of Saint John.
Donations in memory of Joseph may be made to the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation (Dialysis Unit) or a charity of the donor's choice.
