He was predeceased by: his parents, Edouard Gautreau and Rosanne Gautreau (LeBlanc); his wife Maria; and his siblings, Rita, Florine, Clement, Armand, Ulysse and Gerard.

He is survived by: his children, Joanne Gautreau (Carolle Haché), Lise Gautreau (Armand Leger), Claire Melanson (Paul) and Roland Gautreau; his grandchildren, Maxime, Alexie, Nicholas and Maëlle; and his brothers, Leandre Gautreau (Cecile), Ronald Gautreau (Antoinette) and Eric Gautreau (late Celestina). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
