He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Gillespie and Virginia Gillespie (James); and his siblings, Twilla Featherstone, Don Gillespie, Larry Gillespie and Eugene Gillespie.

He is survived by: his wife Junie; his daughters, Coleen Voutt (Dale) of McAdam, NB and Jacqueline Gillespie of McAdam, NB; his grandchildren, Kaden Voutt, Shayna Voutt, Jack Richard and Charlotte Gillespie; his sister Bonnie Charters of Sisson Brook, NB; his stepmother Josie Gillespie of Harvey, NB; and his stepbrothers, Glen, Paul and Peter Thompson. He is also survived by his wife, daughters and grandchildren.
