She was predeceased by: her parents, Josef Schirmer and Anna Schirmer (Stumpf); her sister Marliese Hock; and her brother-in-law Siegfried Hock. She is survived by: her husband Fred; her children, Christine and Fred (Pam); her grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany and Tyler; and her siblings, Josef (Ingrid), Willi (Anne), Gerhard (Rita), Werner (Gerlinde), Bernhard (Sonja) and Maria Bunse (Hermann). She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of their own choosing.
