He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Thornton and Minnie Thornton (Grant); and his siblings, Shalta, Robert and Darlene.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis (Scott); his children, Tammy and Ralph (Angela); his grandchildren, Courtney (Korey), Jordon (Tyler), Somer (Mark) and Ralph; his great grandchildren, Luca, Zack, Lucy and Andie; and his siblings, Donna DeMerchant (Fred) and Jack Thornton (Gloria). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
