She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Tkachuk (Mazer) and John Tkachuk; her husband Allan Dwight Kowalski; her daughter Tammy McClure (Kenneth); and her brothers, Nick Tkachuk and Bill Tkachuk.

She is survived by: her children, Lyn Tidd (Steve Hastings), Richard Kowalski (Kathy), Trina Kowalski and Kimberly Heather (Eugene); her grandchildren, Barry Tidd (Michelle), Nicole Favreau (Olivier), Tiffany Tidd, Monique Mac Clure-Beldjarou (Yacine), Luke Kowalski, Jordan Heather (Penny), Paige Kowalski, Nathan Heather (Billie-Jo), Daniel Kowalski and Brieanna Heather; her great grandchildren, Griffin Bateman (Mimi), Taylor Tidd, Desiree Bateman, Matthew Tidd, Ethen Tidd, Addison Favreau, Teagan Tidd and Madilyn Rose Harnish-Heather; and her sister Anne.

Maria was the foundation of her family.
