He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Vincent Fryer and Lorna Sturk; his stepmother Doris Elizabeth Fryer (Betty); his sister Barbara MacLean; and his half-brother Stewart Birnie.
He is survived by: his wife Leslie; his son Brian (Brenda); his sisters, Christine Puttock (Brian) and Susan Zarzour (Sami); and his grandchildren, Graham (NB), Nathan and Ander (Ottawa).
