He was predeceased by: his son Dennis Johnson; his parents, Clementine Johnson and Lorenzo Johnson; and his parents-in-law, Ruth and Stewart Dalton.

He is survived by: his wife Clara Johnson (Dalton); his children, Steve Johnson (Una), Karen Butt (Gerald), Brian Johnson (Dorothy), Kirk Johnson (Pearl) and Jodi McQuinn (Brent); his brother Eric Johnson (Olive); his siblings-in-law, Harold Dalton (Gertie), Rachel Johnson (Marvin), Madge Laverty (Bill), Roberta Dalton and Betty Butt (Ambrose); his daughters-in-law, Liz Johnson, Yvonne Johnson and Nancy Tharpe; his grandchildren, Stevie, Laurie, Amanda, Tennille, Adam, Patrick, Justin, Mariah, Kristen, Megan, Catherine, Mallory, Chad, Jenna and Brianna; and his great grandchildren, Kyler, Jake, Cooper, William, Lexie, Blake, Isaac and Christopher. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many many friends.
