He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Gabel and Leola Lovely Gabel; and his brother Robert Gabel (Jeannine). He is survived by: his nephew David (Ginette Bourque) of Shediac, NB; and his niece Colleen (Jeff Weir) of Toronto Ontario. He is also survived by great great nephew and great-nieces.
