He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Sobey and Elsie Sobey (Smallwood); his granddaughter Toby Dawn Waye; his son-in-law Glendale Waye; and his siblings, Phyllis and Cecil.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Sobey (Gray) of Maple Glen; his children, Susan Stewart (Reggie) of Maple Glen, Pam Waye (Donnie) of Maple Glen, Faye Sobey (Roger McKay) of Maple Glen, Perry Sobey of Thunder Bay and Michael Sobey (late Annie) of Maple Glen; his siblings, Alice Allain (late Anthony) of Miramichi, Gloria Taylor (Clarence) of Miramichi and Arnold Sobey (Linda) of Maple Glen; and his grandchildren, Randy, Amanda, Colin, Sabrina, Cody, Dustin, Terri Lee, Sarah and Jody. He is also survived by his 19 great grandchildren.
In his memory, donations to Miramichi SPCA or Maple Glen Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
