He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gillis and Grace Gillis; and his wife Jessy Gillis (Irvine). He is survived by: his daughter Freda Flaherty (Richard) of Toronto; his siblings, Charlie Gillis (Betty) of Quebec and Ada Coffin (Carter) of Gaspe; his grandchildren, Stephen Flaherty of Toronto Ontario and Marsha Asmunt (Peter) of Toronto; his great grandchildren, Caitlin, Matthew and Andrew; and his close friend Fran Duncan.
