He is survived by: his parent Jean Bates (Ganong); his significant other Cindy McQuiggan; his son Chris Bates of Kingston, NB; his stepchildren, Adam O'Blenis, Amanda O'Blenis, Sarah O'Blenis and Stephanie O'Blenis; his grandson Hudson; his stepgrandchildren, Denver and Nathaniel; his siblings, Linda Pollock, Bill Pollock of Alberta, Leah Urquhart, Dale Urquhart of Erb, Ann Ukrainetz, Joan Olive, Roy Olive of Hampton, NB, Donald Bates (Pierrette Ricard) of Nova Scotia, Bob Bates and Janice Bates of Keirsteadville, NB; and also Cindy Bates of Kingston, NB. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
