He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mothers, Fanny Gilliland (Cronk) and Phyllis Gilliland (Ogden); his foster son Adam Nicol; his grandson Jesse Coughlan; his siblings, Margaret, Lottie and George; and his children, George Gilliland (Brenda) of Saint John, NB, Ross Gilliland (Noreen), Jane Freeze (Derrick), Ellen Matheson (John), Laura Despres (Brian), Calvin Gilliland (Cathy) and Monica Pevlin (Vince). He was also cherished by 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
