He was predeceased by: his wife Florence Lenore Sharpe (Jones); his parents, Arthur Sharpe and Vera Sharpe (Brewer); his son Stanley Sharpe; his grandchildren, Murray and Janet; his siblings, Allan Sharpe and Mildred Moore; and his son-in-law David Millican.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jocelyn Millican of Fredericton, Katherine Anderson (George) of Keswick Ridge and Barbara Hong (Kenn) of Fredericton; his daughter-in-law Bernice Sharpe of Keswick Ridge; his grandchildren, Scott Millican (Annie), Jody Anderson, Joshua Anderson (Amy), Jill Anderson (Shawn), Justin Anderson (Jenna), Jadrien Hong (Kris), Thomas Hong and Quinlyn Hong; his great grandchildren, Tristan, Taylor, Taryn, Jackson, Scarlet, Wyatt, Jax, Keane, Zoey and Xavier; his siblings, Raymond Sharpe (Madeline), Harold Sharpe (Sylvia), Mable Ingraham, Elwood Sharpe (Annis), Marion Brewer (Conrad) and Cecil Sharpe; and his sister-in-law Sheila Sharpe.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Scotch Settlement Cemetery or The Fredericton Garden Club in memory of Merle would be appreciated by the family.
