He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald G. Atherton and Doris Atherton (Faulkner); his sister Debbie Atherton; and his grandparents, Donald, Tilley Atherton, Margaret and Roy Faulkner.

He is survived by: his wife Sandy Atherton; his children, Jennifer Lynn Atherton, Kyle Atherton (Tarynn Gray) and Laurel Jones (Jimmy); his brother Terry Atherton; his grandchildren, Rylee, McKenna, Connor and Wyatt; his nephews, Benji and Jordan Athertons (Nicole); and also McKenzie.

Memorial donations towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

“Just remembering all the good time we had with Ronnie while growing up on Elm Street. There were many memories that come to mind one especially funny was when Ronnie, Donnie and myself (Ralph) went to Old Orchard Beach and we each bought a jumbo pizza and we ate pizza for three whole days, ha ha. One other time we found a raft on the Meduxnekeag River we went to shoot the rapids just Ronnie and myself (Ralph) it was in the spring of the year, we had to jump of we did not know how to swim.”
