He was predeceased by: his parents, Ambrose Nicholson and Mary Jane Nicholson (Buggie); his son John Jr.; and his siblings, Edith Cando, Lucy Nicholson, Lewis, Murdock and Leo.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Marie Nicholson (Daniel Garret) of Bathurst, NB, Crystal Nicholson of Ponoka, AB, Murdock Nicholson of Miramichi, NB and Andrew Nicholson (Stacey Matchett) of Miramichi, NB; his siblings, Theresa Turcotte of Bathurst, NB, Marie Watt of Miramichi, NB, Beatrice Nicholson of Nova Scotia, Louise Nicholson of Halifax, NS, Betty Barry of Millerton, NB and Anvil Nicholson of Moncton, NB; and his wife Hazel Matchett. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
