He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart Patterson and Barbara Patterson; his mother-in-law Glenna Allen; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Allen and Lloyd Tompkins.

He is survived by: his wife Charlotte (Allen); his brothers, Stephen Patterson (Betty) and Dean Patterson (Debbie); and his siblings-in-law, Carman Allen (June) and Daphene Tompkins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
