He was predeceased by: his parent Ronald Smith; his son-in-law John Painter; and his brother Robert Smith. He is survived by: his parent Ester Smith (Branscombe); his wife Dorothy Smith (O'Brien) of Hampton; his sons, Brian Smith of Sussex and Thom Smith (Carrie) of Moncton; his stepson Kyle Rumson (Angie) of Ripples; his daughters, Debbie Tibbetts of Saint John and Pam Painter of Saint John; his stepdaughters, Kim Rumson of Saint John and Rhonda Rumson of Rothesay; and his siblings, Carl Smith (Myrna) of Salt Springs, John Smith (Dot) of Barnesville, Edward Smith (Betty) of Titusville, Gerald Smith (Jean) of Titusville, William Smith (Marlene) of Nauwigewauk, Curtis Smith (Linda) of Titusville, Stirling Smith (Rita) of Alberta, Yvonne Clark (Jack) of Sussex and Carol Casey (Bob) of Barnesville. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
