He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Hughes and Jessie Hughes (MacKenzie); his former wife Eleanor (O'Connor); and his brother John Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Pamela; his children, Monica McHugh (Jeff) and Matthew Hughes (Andrea); his stepdaughters, Bridget Coughlan and Kalie Andrews; and his siblings, James Hughes, Gordon Hughes (Heather), Ronald Hughes and Betty McIntyre.
