He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert "Raymond" Thorne and Barbara "Jean" Thorne. He is survived by: his wife Glenda; his children, Amanda (Steve DiPaolo) and Paul (Alain Richard) of Halifax; his granddaughters, Brooke of Quispamsis, Claire of Quispamsis and Ally of Quispamsis; and his siblings, Stephanie, Danny, Mark, Shannon (Dave) and Andrew (Sheena).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Parkinson Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice in his memory.
