She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Hersey and Vangie Hersey (Delaney); her former husband Romaine Buckman; her brother Arthur Hersey; her nephew Laurence Cook; and her niece Tanya Cook.
She is survived by: her husband William "Buddy" Benson of Grand Manan, N. B.; her sister Jean Prime of Wolfville, N. S.; and her sister-in-law Edith Cook of Grand Manan. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
