He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Guptill and Myrtle Guptill; his wife Alice (Green); his son Scott (Deborah Griffin); and his siblings, Judson (Carole Monroe) and Joanne (Blair Robinson).

He is survived by: his sons, Car Sales, Distributor, Maritime Beverages Ltd and Kenny Fisheries Ltd; his sister Janet (Warren Neal) of Florida; his daughters, Jonelle (James Hepditch) of North Head and Deborah (Ward Fleet) of Halifax, NS; his grandchildren, Morgan, Alicia, Adrienne, Laci, Judson (Jennifer Green), Paige (Richard Drake) and Janice; and his great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Hope, Serenity, Harmony, Aleric, Lucia and Jasper. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.

Donations in Maynard's memory can be made to the Grand Manan Nursing Home and/or the Grand Manan Hospital.
