He was predeceased by: his parents, Bion Lee (Jack) and Gertrude Blanche Guptill (Ossinger); and his son Norman Guptill. He is survived by: his wife Carole Eileen Guptill (Green) of Grand Harbour; his children, Joanne McLaughlin (David Stewart) of Red Point, PE, Brian Guptill (Sue Borthwick) of Grand Harbour and John Guptill (Tricia) of Grand Harbour; his grandchildren, Jane McLaughlin, Robyn Guptill, Mallory Clinch, Jason Guptill and Eric Guptill; and his sisters, Lorraine Greene (Dennis) of Grand Harbour and Patricia Lyon (Tony) of Grand Harbour. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.

Donations in Gary's memory can be made to the Grand Manan Museum Inc., the Shayne Green & Jason Urquhart Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
