He was predeceased by: his former wife Jeannette Dionne; his parents, Henri Daigle and Eva Daigle (Albert); his former wife Jeannette Daigle (Dionne); and his sister Velma Dionne (late Jean-Baptiste).
He is survived by: his wife Florence; his daughters, Marie-Therese O'Sullivan (Timothy), Francine Daigle, Gisele Michaud (Gilles) of Grand Falls, N. B, Annette Bourgoin (Denis) of Saint Leonard, N. B. and Anne Gatchell (Greg) of Bridgewater, N. S.; his grandchildren, Pierre Michaud (Kristine), Eric Michaud, Emilie Gatchell, Nathalie Bourgoin and William Gatchell; his great grandchildren, Alyssa and Madison Michaud; his grandchildren, Matthew McCluskey, Nathan Blackmun (Mallory Belzile) and Julia McCluskey (Neil Atkinson); and his brother-in-law Armand Dionne (Léola). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In 1973, he was named Person of the Year and was awarded a life membership to the Grand Falls Gorge Commission for his promotion of the falls and gorge as a major tourist attraction, and in 2010, he was awarded the Order of New Brunswick for his outstanding contributions to the town, the province, and its citizens. In April 1988, a few years after his retirement, he was honored by the town of Grand Falls where they announced that as a result of his commitment and contributions to the town over the years, they would be re-naming a street in his honor.
