He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Jean (Johnston). He is survived by: his wife Diana Burr (Moss); his children, Jeannine Burr Spurrell (Greg Eastman) of Etobicoke and Douglas (Erica Weeks) of Oshawa; and his brother James (Cheryl) of Mount Brydges. He is also survived by five grandchildren, one great grandchild.
