He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonse Godbout and Ida Godbout (Beaulieu); and his siblings, Céline Desjardins (late Yves Levesque), Anne-Marie Godbout and Maurice Godbout.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda MacDougall of Kitchener and Donna Godbout (Daren McEvoy) of Grand Falls; his grandchildren, John MacDougall Jr., Dylan MacDougall and Thomas McEvoy; his siblings, L. Valère (Parise) of Bristol, Connecticut, Arcade (late June) of Port Hawkesbury, NS, Gisèle Chaires (late Frank) of Burlington, Solange Castonguay (Kenneth) of Terryville, Patricia Roy of Lewiston, Maine and Monique McLaughlin (Gérard) of Dieppe; and his sister-in-law Linda (late Maurice) of Southington. He is also survived by nieces and, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the O'Regan's Funeral Home (515 Everard H Daigle Boul, Grand-Sault, NB E3Z 2R5). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church.
