He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Gibson (Stafford); his parents, Clarence Gibson and Jean Gibson; his brothers, Jackie, Norman and Robert Gibson Sr.; his nephews, Peter and Bob Gibson Jr.; and his sister-in-law Carol Downs.

He is survived by: his sons, Louis Dow Gibson of Taymouth and Sandy Alexander William Gibson (Diane) of Richibucto Road; his pet Ginger; his daughter Jenny Lynn Justason (Brad Jardine) of Marysville; his sister Linda Dykeman; his sister-in-law Margaret Gibson; his grandchildren, Joey, Noah, Sally, Cassidy, Samantha, Jacob and Tara; his great grandchild Avery Kate; his niece Paula Grant; and his nephews, Matthew Dykeman, Mike Dykeman and Billy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the Fredericton Area SPCA, or to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
