He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mitchell and Hildred Mitchell (Savage); his siblings, Gertrude Davidson (Joe), Geraldine Crawford (Gib), Millard Mitchell (Marion), Murray Mitchell (Annie), Irvine Mitchell (Marjorie), Helen Riley, Faith LaPointe (Bill), William "Billy" Mitchell and Dale Mitchell; and his wife Zelda (Richard).

He is survived by: his children, Lorie Kendrick (Michael) and Jamie Mitchell (Tanya); his grandchildren, Tyler Kendrick (Tammie), Katie Corey (Zac), Christopher Mitchell (Morgan), Derek Mitchell (Sofia) and Ashley Mitchell (Tyler); his great grandchildren, Katrina, Brandon, Jenna, Emma, Cali, Macy and Elliot; his siblings, Mae Johnson (late Donald), Shirley Saunders (late George) and Merville "Mert" Mitchell (Gail); and his siblings-in-law, Alice Meehan, Gwen Mitchell and Pat Riley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
