He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray Kierstead and Laura Kierstead (Philips); his siblings, Roy, Cleveland, Essie Ryder, Velma Black, Hazel Kierstead and Avard Black (Milton Ryder); and his nephews, Myles Chown and Leroy Ryder.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Kierstead (West); his sons, Gary (Nancy) of Coles Island, Roger (Debbie) of Fredericton and Stephen (Mary-Jo) of Fredericton; his grandchildren, Laura (Luke), Heather (Robert), Anna (Caleb), Sarah, Rachel, Abigail, Rebekah, Esther, Danielle, Jacob, Molly and Elijah; his sister Florence Chown; his brothers-in-law, Richard West (Judy) and Brian West (Cynthia); his niece Laurena Parks; and his nephews, Floyd Black and Eugene Chown. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
