He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bowlen and Evelyn Bowlen (Donovan); his father-in-law Allard McCarthy; and his sister-in-law Alice McCarthy-Overink. He is survived by: his wife Rita McCarthy of Fredericton, NB; his children, Robert "Bob" Bowlen of Ontario and Erin Bowlen of Fredericton; his siblings, Charlie Bowlen (Gaynell) of Fredericton, Judy Leavitt (Kenneth) of Fredericton, Bonnie O'Donnell (Frank) of Fredericton, Mary Ellen Bowlen of Fredericton, Tim Bowlen of Fredericton, Janice Bowlen of Fredericton, Theresa Guitard (Marc) of Fredericton, Mike Bowlen (Marg) of Nova Scotia and Sheldon Geldart (Gayle); his mother-in-law Antoinette McCarthy; his siblings-in-law, Michael McCarthy (Gizele) and Margaret McCarthy (Joan Brown); and his close friends, Barb, John Flinn and Yvonne Murphy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
