He is survived by: his wife Rita Basu (Mitra) of Fredericton; his sons, Sujoy and Sumit Basu; and his siblings, Shusanta (Anju), Ovilas Basu (Shelly) and Lucy Dutta (Somir). He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews.
