He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Cogswell and Elizabeth Cogswell (Atkinson); and his siblings, Fred Jr., Ron, Clair and Don.

He is survived by: his son Wayne Cogswell (Joanne); his nephew Peter Cogswell; and his sister Joan. He is also survived by several cousins' nieces and nephews.
