He was predeceased by: his son Doug; his wife Bertha "Toots"; and his brothers, Huntley and Purdy (Joyce). He is survived by: his son Darwin (Vicki); his daughter-in-law Susan; his grandchildren, Jamie (Beth) and Jason (Jackie); his great grandchildren, Nick and Noah; his sister Joyce Charters (Bill); and his sister-in-law Kaye. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
