He was predeceased by: his parents, Aletha Runtz (Saunders) and Victor Alexander Runtz. He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Elizabeth Runtz (LaRhette); his children, Christopher Runtz (Jacquie Izzard-Taylor), Aaron Runtz and Naomi Delorey (Bert); his grandchildren, Anthony Rogers, Jacob Runtz, Malcolm Runtz, Isaiah Schriver and Michaela Schriver; his great grandchild Amaya Schriver; his brother Everett Runtz (Anne); and his friend Gordon Muncer.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the York Funeral Home (302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB E3A5K2). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel (302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB E3A5K2).
