She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Nickerson and Eva Nickerson (Buote); her husband Dennis Frederick McGowan; and her brother Donald Charles Nickerson. She is survived by: her children, Michael McGowan of Fredericton, Brian (Karen Hussey) of Dieppe, Karen Wedge (Peter) of Saint John and Sandra McGowan of Saint John; her grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell McGowan, Peter Michael, Mark, Sean Wedge, Michael Voutour, Sarah McGowan, Megan and Melissa Voutour; and her sisters, Shirley Moore (late Bill), Marjorie (late Ken Connell), Helen Bonner and Barbara Munroe (Bruce). She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Big Brothers and Big Sisters or a charity of the donor's choice.
