He was predeceased by: his wife Gemma Rita (Barriault); his parents, Jean Martel and Alice Martel (Rioux); and his siblings, Jeanne, Lucienne, Adele, Yvette, Georgette, Adrienne, Therese, Rita, Leopauld, Lucien, Romuald, Philipe, Adrien, Theodore and Marius.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Martel (Edith) of Upper Queensbury, NB, Robert Martel (Johanne), Saint Denis, Elizabeth Murray (Paul) of Fredericton, NB and Susan Martel of Dorval, QC; his grandchildren, Jonathan Martel (Beth), Adrien Martel, Cynthia Martel (Frederic), Sarah Martel (Charles), Stephanie Murray (Jason), Michele LeBlanc (Alex) and Rita Champagne; his great grandchildren, Adam, Emma, Jeremy, Henri, Leonard, Albert, Chloe and Blaine; and his sister Marie LaFlamme. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
