She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry G. Dunbar and Annie M. Ferris. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Collins (Cyndi), Frederick "Fred" Heins and Richard "Ricky" Heins.

“I just saw Joyce's brief obituary and am so shocked and sad to see it. She and I worked together in the N.B.E.P.C. in the '50's. She had a lovely voice, had charisma, likeable, could tell great jokes. I liked her very much; we were not close friends but still close. She is a bit older than I but full of life and fun as long as I knew her. I feel the world is less brighter now that Joyce has gone to her Heavenly Father. I miss U dear fiend. .”
