He was predeceased by: his parents, James Toon and Fredericka Toon (Colwell); and his siblings, Elizabeth "Liz" Gilmore, Donald and Ronald.
He is survived by: his wife Dianna Toon (Cochrane); his children, Julie Jackson (Paul), Mark Toon (Sarah Lamarche) and Brent Toon (Chantal); his grandsons, Dylan and Gareth Jackson; his brothers-in-law, Harry Gilmore (Gloria) and Blair Cochrane (Kathy); and his nieces and nephews, Tammy, Andrew, Chantelle and Nick.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in John's memory may be made to Journey Church, Canadian Diabetes Association, War Amps or to a charity of the donor's choice.
