Irène (Gallant) Scholten Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irène (Gallant) Scholten (Fredericton, New Brunswick), born in Shediac Cape, New Brunswick, who passed away on May 20, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Elzear Gallant and Corinne Gallant; her husband Alex Scholten; her sister Jeannette; and her siblings-in-law, Bertus, Benny, Francis, John, Herman, Femy, Tuusje, Connie and Mary.

She is survived by: her children, Alex Scholten, Daniel Scholten (Rachel), Monique Scholten (James Leach), Memere, Emily Leach, Anika Scholten and Joseph Leach; her siblings, Aline Babineau (Henri), Lea Scholten (Tony), Leonard Gallant (Jeannitta), Elzear Gallant (Ruth) and Pierre Gallant (Marilyn); and her siblings-in-law, Willie (Beatrice), Tony (Lea), Sientje Scholten, Nardy Lourenssen (Gerald), Annie Buyting (Harry), Fientje Cameron (Joe), Theresa Scholten, Paula Tomlinson (Wayne), Marilyn Gallant (Pierre) and Liedy Fox (Mark). She is also survived by the many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass for family will be held on Monday May 24th, 2021 at 12 Noon from St. Dunstan's Catholic Church with Father Bill Brennan officiating, with Covid procedures and protocols in effect.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice House in Fredericton or a charity of the doner's choice.
