He was predeceased by: his wife Deanna Stairs (MacNevin); his parents, Albert Stairs and Elsie Stairs (Dougherty); and his siblings, Shirley Bamford (late Jarvis) and Robert Stairs.

He is survived by: his siblings, Alton Stairs (Donna), Earl Stairs (Sharon), Eugene Stairs (Mary Jane), Junior Stairs (Elaine), David Stairs (Chris) and Deborah Lofstrom (Brian). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
