The passing of Gordon Edward Hughes of Fredericton, New Brunswick leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on April 4, 2025 at the age of 79. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Priscilla Hughes (O'Connell) and Ernest Joseph Hughes; his former wife Teresa; his wife Dorothy Hughes (Leet); his son Greg Hughes; and his siblings, Dorothy, Edna, Alfred and Ernestine.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Hughes of Fredericton and Christine Gallant (Collin); his sister Anna Duffy (late Charles); his stepchildren, Joyce (Larry), Brian, Terry and Roger; his stepgrandsons, Michael Leet and Brandon Leet-MacFarlane; and his caregivers, Jamacia, Megan, Dr. Raza and Dr. Scott Robertson. He is also survived by step great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the York Funeral Home (302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB E3A5K2). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church (1 William St, Fredericton, NB E3A1N1).
