He was predeceased by: his wife Femy; his daughter Alida Sowers (Lidy); his parents, Antonius and Alida (Siemers); and his siblings, Theo, Herman Veerkamp and Ineka Broeren (Peter).
He is survived by: his children, Tony Veerkamp, Mary-Lou Mowat (Harvie), Cathy Veerkamp-Wallace (Bill), Irene Veerkamp (Troy Dorcas), Elise Gorman, Nancy Legere (Todd) and Diane Boardman (Vincent). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.
