She was predeceased by: her parents, John Barron and Kathleen Barron (Dawson); her husband Frank Whaling; her former husband Alex Yaychuk; her brother James Barron; and her brothers-in-law, Joseph Vilimaitis and Ed Williams.

She is survived by: her son Steve Yaychuk (Antoinette) of Hanwell, NB; her grandsons, Alex Yaychuk of Fredericton, NB and Philip Yaychuk of Ottawa, ON; her sisters, Margaret Vilimaitis of Fredericton, NB and Genevieve Williams of Goulds, NL; and her sister-in-law Marie Barron of Carbonear, NL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
