It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alice Almeda MacFarlane (Fredericton, New Brunswick), born in Nackawic, New Brunswick, who passed away on January 30, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Harold MacFarlane; her parents, Mildred Stairs (Davidson) and Ralph Stairs; her granddaughter Jennifer MacFarlane; her son-in-law Brian Thornton; her daughter Jean Ahrens of London, ON; her siblings, Bertram (Myrtle), Irma Stairs, Marie Williams (Travis), Louise Lenentine (Merritt) and Frederick; and also, Nina Morrison (Bill), Perley (Doris), Merle (Kay), Dorothy Pickard (Bud), Robert (Helen), George (Maudie), Paul (Joan), Gerald (Flossie) and Priscilla.
She is survived by: her children, George (Sally) of Fredericton, James (Berniece) of Stanley, Barbara Bailey (Charles) of Hammonds Plains, NS, Mary Thornton of Fredericton, NB, Judy Richardson (George) of Fredericton, NB, Susan "Sue" MacFarlane of Fredericton, NB, Christina "Tina" Kelly (Terry) of Fredericton, NB and Richard "Ricky" of Rankin Island; her sisters-in-law, Ida Carson (MacFarlane) of Nackawic and Alice Stairs of Meductic; and her son-in-law Stan Ahrens of London, ON. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
