He is survived by: his wife Marcelle Peters (Corbin); his children, Jenny Peters-Cochrane (Steve), Mitchell Peters (Maria) and Daniel Peters (Kara); his stepchildren, Carol Storey (Chris) and Brian Perreault (Annie); his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Patrick, Ben, Mateo, Matthew, Michaela, Christian, Christine and Nicholas; his great grandchild Aleaha; and his siblings, Johanna "Annie" Conley (Ron), Elizabeth "Elly" McCarty (late Gerald), Theo Peters (Diane), Tony Peters (Claudette) and John Peters (Beverley). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
