He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Paterson and Pearl Paterson (Shannon); his sister Carmen; and his brother-in-law Perry Hathaway. He is survived by: his wife Doreen Sparks; his stepchildren, Casey Paris (Jonathan Paul-Gee), Evelyn Smith (Andy DeMerchant), Nathaniel Sparks, Bruce Smith and Wally Smith; his grandchildren, Jasper, Murray, Evon and Star; and his siblings, Linda Hathaway, Dale Paterson (Carolyn) and Christine Lockhart (Randy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
