He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil and Marie; his brothers, Ronnie (Eddie) and Rod Leroux (Dean Lovely); and his parents-in-law, Clarence and Helen Simms.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn; his children, Chris (Sarah Lanteigne) and Nicole Trafford (Tony); his grandson Jackson Trafford; his siblings, Wallace (Irene), Donnie (Marilyn), Carl (Brenda), Marilyn Savage (Wayne) and Helen Lovely; and his sister-in-law Sharon Simms. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of George may be made to the St. James Anglican Cemetery fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
