He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennett McKeen and Gertrude McKeen (Yerxa); his father-in-law Arnold King; and his brothers-in-law, Doug Cairns and Paul King.

He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Troy (Alicia), Kevin (Deborah), Shawn (Amanda) and Vanessa (Kyle); his grandchildren, Morgan, Myles (Kaitlyn), Chase, Luc, Maverick, Makenna and Cheyenne; his siblings, George (Lynn) and Una Cairns; his mother-in-law Greta King; and his friend Roy Kelly. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
